Dr. Olga Venetsianou

Olga Venetsianou has studied architecture in the Canterbury School of Architecture in the UK and in the National Technical University of Athens (2002). Following a few years of architectural practice, she went on to complete the MA in Digital Arts in the Athens school of Fine Arts (2006), where she was awarded a state scholarship for exceptional performance. She holds a PhD from the School of Architecture – University of Thessaly (2014) funded by a scholarship from the Alexander S. Onassis foundation. She is interested in haptic and digital space merging strategies, as well as applications of digital media in the conceptualization and production of design objects. She has also been awarded a distinction the Street Furniture design competition by the Greek Free/Open Source Software Society and the National Technical University of Athens for the Wi-Fi seat, an interactive seat and light fitting for outdoor use that materializes information flow and acts as a Wi-Fi source. Her work has been published in scientific journals and presented in international conferences. She is also an elected member of the Association of Greek Architects and representative of the Technical Chamber of Greece in the BIM (Building Information Modeling) workgroup of the Architects’ Council of Europe, as well as the Internationalization and New Business models workgroup. She also works privately as an architect, having collaborated in housing, cultural and commercial projects in Greece and abroad.
